JOIN THE BAND
The Regimental Band of the Royal Hamilton Light Infantry (RHLI) is an operational sub-unit of the Regiment. We are seeking dedicated Military Musicians to serve in the Primary Reserve.
Joining the RHLI Band offers the opportunity to serve your country, maintain professional musical standards, and participate in high-profile ceremonial duties.
BASIC ELIGIBILITY
Applicants must be a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident, at least 18 years old, and have completed a minimum of Grade 10. You must meet the medical, fitness, and aptitude standards of the Canadian Armed Forces.
AUDITION
Your journey begins with a musical audition. You will be assessed on technical proficiency and sight-reading. This assessment must be completed before you can be processed for enrolment at a recruiting centre.
BASIC TRAINING
Upon enlistment, the first requirement is to successfully complete Basic Military Qualification (BMQ). This training provides the fundamental soldiering skills required before moving on to musical training.
